Kaycee Dixey and Susan Avila-Dixey are sisters and enrolled members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes from the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in southeast Idaho. Kaycee began singing circle dance songs at just eight years old, aught lovingly by her grandparents. When her sister Susan was five, Kaycee assed those same songs on to her in their Shoshoni and Bannock languages. Susan picked them up quickly and today she carries even more songs than her older sister. Together, they continue the teachings passed down through their family and share these beautiful circle dance songs, honoring one of their most sacred relatives—the horse.
