Marleen shares a tale of being outsmarted by a clever horse. Marleen Bussma recites "Caught Nappin'" by Bruce Kiskaddon during the "Now That's Classic" show at the 40th National Cowboy Poetry Gathering.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marleen Bussma
Dammeron Valley, UT
Marleen Bussma was raised on a small farm in North Dakota. As a young girl, herding cattle on horseback stirred her imagination to want to be just like Dale Evans. Farm stories and intriguing tales of the old West have had a big influence on her writing. She has been described as a poet who “gets the art of conversational storytelling as she opens your eyes to the real.” She has won multiple awards as she crafts verses on the plight of women of the West from frontier days to modern times.
"Caught Nappin'" poem by Bruce Kiskaddon.
