Ranch Truck Radio
38th Gathering
•
1h 39m
Featuring: Corb Lund, The Munsick Boys, Dave Stamey
You might forgive your ranch truck its rough shocks, cracked windows, quirky tailgate, geriatric miles, and depleted A/C…if it’s got a working radio. And, if it’s blasting these goodies, it’ll be your trustiest steed. With the rut-busting tunes of Corb Lund, the pickup-breakdowns of The Munsick Boys, and the washboard-smoothing songs of Dave Stamey, you’ll cover musical ground from one end of the ranch to the other. Kick Ol’ Betsy’s bumper all you want (if she’s still got one). But don’t change that dial.
Hosted by Ryan Fritz.
From the 38th National Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Corb Lund
Southern AB, Canada
Hailing from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Corb Lund grew up in rural Alberta chasing cattle, riding horseback, and rodeoing. Embracing both his long family lineage of ranchers and rodeo people and his indie rock past, Corb’s music filters a range of cowboy themes through his unique lens–from rough-and-tumble tales of lawless frontier saloons to the somber realities of running a modern family ranch. Most recently, he released Songs My Friends Wrote, featuring his own spin on songs written by close friends and world-class songwriters such as Hayes Carll, Todd Snider, and Canadian country music legend Ian Tyson. Corb spent much of 2022 doing what he loves best–being on the road and writing another album of originals to be released this year.
The Munsick Boys
Dayton, WY
The Munsick Boys (Dave, Sam, and Tris) have a natural appeal to enthusiasts of western culture. Hailing from northern Wyoming, they have ranched and made music together for most of their lives. They participate in horsemanship clinics, help out at local brandings, and day work on neighboring ranches. Their unique sound, a cross between sagebrush country and open-sky folk, is drawn from the people and places they've gotten to know as they have worked and played around the West. They have opened for icons such as Ian Tyson and Lyle Lovett, grown a popular fan base on internet radio, and headlined music festivals in the US and Europe. They've also won honors that include the AWA Will James Best Country Band Award.
Dave Stamey
Orange Cove, CA
Dave Stamey has been a cowboy, a mule packer, and a dude wrangler. Now, he is one of the most popular western entertainers working today. Dave has made it his life's work to celebrate the rural American West. In the past two decades, he has recorded 11 albums of original music, traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, and performed thousands of shows doing just that. His songs capture the life of the modern cowboy in a world of rapid transition, where some things change constantly and some things never change at all. He lives in the farthest northeastern corner of Tulare County, where the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains begin just outside his back door.
